The 24-year-old rapper from Lambeth, London has just released another single 'Loose Ends' with the talented Jorja Smith in his lead up to the well anticipated new album 'Not waving, but drowning' which will be released on April 19th. Although the young British rapper hasn't been able to grab any big attention yet from the rapping industry out there, he has started to make a name for himself with his NME win for Best British Solo Artist of 2018. Yet still, the artist hasn't been exposed to the world quite yet. However, in just over a month, the new single has reached over 2 million streams. But, this should be higher.

The beautiful, smokey vocals of Jorja Smith, coupled with the contrasting raw and deep raps of Loyle come together to create an incredibly balanced track that fit the lyrical meanings perfectly. The simple but clean piano chords make the song much more emotional as you, the listener are drawn into every word Loyle preaches. As a last layer to keep a steady fluidity, the drum pattern is very prominent throughout the track so that you stick to the beat of the rapper, but not so powerful that it takes away form the finesse of the more delicate harmonies of Jorja. For a music genre that is becoming very 'Americanised', it is exciting to know that new talent is coming through from the bottom and may well be at the top very soon.
